Our New Restaurant Menu - Winter 2024

We love to celebrate seasonal ingredients throughout the year, so you may notice it means we change our menus from time to time. This is so we can make sure we bring you the best of the best when it comes to local produce.

Our chefs have been working on an amazing Winter menu that went live in our restaurant from November. We’ve brought back some of our cosy classics that you all loved last year, as well as expanding our vegetarian options and putting together some showstopper desserts.

To view our full menus, you can do so here, but if you want a little insight in to what we’ve been working on, read on and prepare to be hungry.

Our Small Plates

Small but mighty, we’ve packed lots of flavour in to some incredible small plates. During the day, you can enjoy our home cured trout which is a beautifully light dish, perfect to get you kick started for a feast. We’ve also introduced a pressed ham hock with piccalilli and sourdough toast. On our evening menu, back by popular demand, we’ve brought back our twice baked cheese soufflé and we’ve added devilled kidneys to the starting lineup. As always, we offer a homemade soup for both dinner and lunch, which is a big hit during the Winter months.

Our Mains

When it comes to the main event, we don’t mess around with flavour. For lunch, we’ve got the top choices in terms of ‘pub classics’ with hand carved Gloucestershire ham, egg and chips, local sausage and mash and an unbeatable Hereford beef cheeseburger. For our evening offering, we’ve brought back our famous homemade steak and ale pie, the pastry is a work of art from our chefs. We’ve also added Cornish hake fillet with crushed potatoes and if you really want to treat yourself, you can get our chargrilled ribeye steak that comes with our triple cooked chips and bearnaise sauce.

Our Vegetarian Options

As we like to grow a lot of our own vegetables throughout the year, as well as make sure we’re showcasing all things seasonal, we thought it only right we increased our vegetarian offering across both our day and evening menus. We wanted our restaurant to be a celebration of all things veg! At lunch time, you can enjoy THIS sausage and mash, a flavour packed butternut squash curry, or one of our new favourites, blue cheese gnocchi. Having trialled our cauliflower steak with butterbean mash at the end of Summer, and it flying out to many diners, we had to make sure it stayed on our evening menu, alongside our mushroom Bourguignon pie and squash, chestnut and sage risotto. So much to choose from, you might have to visit multiple times!

Our Puds

We never shy away from a good dessert and we always suggest you leave room for one when you’re dining at The Old New Inn. This season, we’ve kept it simple by keeping our ever popular sticky toffee pudding on the menu, if it ain’t broke and all that. Our new puddings are pear cobbler and custard, which goes perfectly on a cold crisp day, or if you’re a chocolate fan, you have to try our dark chocolate and orange mousse (pictured above).

Hopefully this is enough of a teaser to get those tastebuds going and making you want to book a table with us this Winter! If you need more temptation, then please do check out our full menu here. If you want to come and try out our delicious food, book a table and we’ll see you soon!
