Twenty Minutes From TONI - The Farmers Dog Pub
Here’s another useful ‘Twenty Minutes From TONI’ blog, where we’re aiming to inspire your visit to Bourton-On-The-Water, by showing you where you can get to within twenty minutes by either car or foot!
This time, we took a little trip to none other than The Farmers Dog pub over in Burford, Oxfordshire. Which, if you’re staying at The Old New Inn, is just a twenty minute drive away.
Location
The Farmers Dog pub is location around 12 miles from The Old Inn. You’ll start by heading out towards Upper Rissington, where you’ll soon see stunning local villages and beautiful countryside views. On a clear day, the drive is really worth it and makes it even more fun.
The Pub
When you arrive, you’ll turn in to a huge car park that’s got plenty of space for a large amount of visitors. The pub itself is a great spot, good amount of space, but still extremely cosy, especially by the fire. You can rock up to the bar and work your way through the Hawkstone drinks, which apparently people often do, or grab a seat in the restaurant for a tasty lunch or dinner. The main attraction, of course, is the hanging tractor as you walk in. Very cleverly done and it actually looks super impressive!
Outside
One of the most impressive things about The Farmers Dog, is it’s outdoor terrace and beer garden. The terrace boasts tons of space, with lots of heaters so if you’re visiting in the colder months, you can still enjoy sitting outside. And the beer garden itself is absolutely huge, plenty of space for furry friends to roam around too! The views from both are something else, especially on a clear day.
The Grand Tour Tent
Before you leave, you have to take a wonder around the Grand Tour tent, or if you fancy it, you can sit in there for a beer and some food at certain times of the day. You’ll find a wide range of farm produce, so you can stock up on delicious ingredients. You can also grab yourself some Hawkstone merch, and all the Jeremy Clarkson branded goods you could possibly want.
We highly recommend taking a trip over to The Farmers Dog, if you’re visiting the Cotswolds, it can make a great afternoon out, or extend it in to a day out by taking a wonder around Burford.
