7 Things To Do Over Easter In And Around Bourton-On-The-Water

Bourton-On-The-Water really comes alive over the Easter holidays, being a popular family trip destination, we see people enjoy day trips as well as enjoying a little holiday in our great village. With that, there’s always lots going on around Bourton and in the surrounding areas, so you’re never shy of a fun activity this time of year!

We’ve put together a list of some of our top recommendations for if you’re planning on visiting or you’re already local to the area.

1. Easter Code Cracking at The Model Village

The Model Village comes alive over Easter weekend, it’s one of our busiest weekends and we love to see lots of families visiting from all over the world.

We’re bringing back our Easter code hunt again this year, as it’s been enjoyed by many previously! On Sunday 31st March, expect to see some hidden letters throughout the Model Village, each one will help you crack a special code. You can pick up a code sheet upon entry and there are lots of sweet treats to be won if you can crack the code.

2. Enjoy a Sunday roast

On Easter Sunday, what better way to spend time with the family than by enjoying a delicious Sunday roast! We may be biased, but our Sunday roasts are the BEST! We get rave reviews and we’re always busy, so expect the same this Easter. If you’re looking to dine in a group, we highly recommend booking, which you can do so here.

3. Stock up on sweet goods

Let’s be honest, one of the main things we all love about Easter is…chocolate! Whether you’re waiting patiently for the Easter bunny to do his drop, or you love baking Easter treats, it’s a great time to really satisfy that sweet tooth. We have an array of great local bakeries in BOTW, so if you fancy a break from chocolate eggs, treat yourself to some delicious pastries, cakes or brownies at The Den , or Bakery On The Water!

4. Go on a Brewery Tour

If you’re not having to entertain kids over Easter, but still want to do something fun, why not head to Hawkstone Brewery and book on to one of their amazing tours! Learn how their beer is made, and sample plenty of it too. It’s on the edge of the village here in Bourton, so if you’re staying in the centre, it’s an easy walk away from most spots.

6. The Big Batsford Bunny Hunt at Batsford Arboretum

Head on over to Batsford Arboretum, around 20 minutes from Bourton On The Water, and partake in their big bunny hunt! Help them find all the bunnies that have escaped and that are now hopping around the grounds. No need to book for the hunt, but pre booking your entry ticket is recommended.

7. Easter Egg hunt at Sudeley Castle

Follow the trail of giant Easter eggs hidden around the gorgeous grounds of Sudeley Castle, another 20 minute drive from Bourton.
